To identify a compound of a chromatogram in GC, three techniques exist : mass spectrometry, Kovats retention index and RT method (see Identification of the peaks in RT). These solutions can be complementary by bringing a confirmation for a more precise identification.
GC-LC CONCORDANCE allows the standardization of a chromatogram by using the conversion of retention time with the Kovats retention index.
The calibration of Alcanes will be made internally or externally according to the nature of the sample. By using the libraries of index linked to the nature of the used columns, the identification of the compounds of the chromatogram will be possible.
A double click on the concerned peak, and the name of the compound will be displayed.
Another possibility of the software allows to search in the library according to the property of the product or its C.A.S. number.
Libraries can be enriched by supplementary data or be created at will.
